Itinerary

DAY 1 First Stop
The Sand Dunes In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel start the drive to Kharkhorin. On the way, we will stop at Elsen Tasarkhai, sand dunes stretching 80 kilometers down forested hills and wild stepe. Here we will go camel riding and explore the area.

Stay overnight in a ger camp. Lunch and Dinner
DAY 2 Erdene Zuu and Bat-Ulzii
In the morning, we will leave the sand dunes and drive to the Erdene Zuu Monastery in Kharkhorin. Here we will tour the monastery and the famous stone turtle standing as the last remnant of ancient Karakorum. After the tour, we will drive to Bat-Ulzii, a small village on the banks of the Orkhon River.

DAY 3
The Felt Festival
Today you will participate in one a local felt festival. The festival will give you a great opportunity to observe the nomadic traditional technology of making felt such as combing, laying out, and dragging felt with a horse.

In the afternoon you will go for a ride to visit Ulaan Tsutgalan, a famous ten meters wide and twenty meters high waterfall, located in the middle of Orkhon valley.

DAY 4 Yak Festival
Today you will participate in another local event - The Yak Festival. The festival begins with a yak race and is followed by a yak lassoing competition and a polo game on the back of yaks. In the evening we will go for a horse ride along the Orkhon River.

DAY 5 Khustai National Park
Early in the morning you will leave Bat-Ulzii and drive in the direction of Ulaanbaatar. You will pass Kharkhorin, Elsen Tasarkhai and stop in Khustain National Park, a place famous for its growing population of rare Przewalski's horses.

Overnight in a ger camp. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
DAY 6 Horse-Watching and Return Home
In the morning you will explore the park and search for Przewalski's horses.

Later you will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Breakfast
