Dadal is located in the Khentii province in northeastern Mongolian. It is well-known for being the birthplace of the mighty Chinggis Khan. This great ruler grew up and began his conquests from Khentii. It's also rumored that this great Khan was secretly buried in this area.

The Khentii province is named after the Khentii Mountain Range, which stretches from Central Mongolia all the way to the corner of the province. The mountains are a part of 1.2 million acres called the Khan Khentii Protected Area. Rivers Tuul, Onon, and Kherelen race through the mountainous province. The Balj-Onon National Park is also found in the northeast of the province.

DAY 2 Baldanbereeven Monastery and Uglugch Wall
From Khukh Lake, we will drive to the Baldanbereeven Monastery. This monastery was built in 1777 and at its peak was home to 1,500 lamas. In the 1930s, it was destroyed by thugs, then again in the 1970s by fire.

From the monastery we will drive to Rashaan Khad, a rock covered with ancient inscriptions and drawings depicting animals, people, and tribal seals. Later we will continue on to the Uglugch Wall. This ancient kilometer-long wall is made of red granite stone and said to guard the graves of Mongolian royalty.

DAY 3 Dadal Sum
From the Uglugch Wall we will travel north across the Onon River and towards Dadal where we will spend two days. Dadal is a gorgeous area full of lakes, rivers, and forests. Unlike the rest of Mongolia, the locals here live in log huts instead of gers.

Near the Onon-Balj National Park and extending north towards Russia, Dadal is just 25 kilometers from Siberia, and the weather shows it. Here, we will explore the area and go horseback riding.

Stay overnight in a ger camp. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
DAY 4 Chinggis Khot
Today we will drive to the province's capital, Chinggis Khot, on the banks of the Kherlen River. Some of the city’s highlights include the Ethnography Museum, a local monastery, and a well-preserved Turkish-era balbal (stone grave marker 7 km west of the city).

Stay overnight in a hotel. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
DAY 5 Secret History of the Mongols
In the morning we will drive to the famous Khunnu Khuduu Aral, where the first Mongolian political center was built. This is also the place where "The Secret History of the Mongols" was completed in 1240.

This book is currently the most important literary and historical work of Mongols from ancient times. It is also a source of priceless knowledge.

Stay overnight in a ger camp. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
