Celebrate the Mongolian New Year
in the most traditional way possible by taking part in Buddhist prayers, the Muruu gargakh (buddhist horoscope ritual), feed monks, and more. Breath the fresh air of the countryside.
By participating in our tour, you will help support the Amarbaysgalant Monastery. A portion of the tour cost will be donated to the monastery's renovation.
50 USD per person/per day - Minimum of 4 people will share a car.

Option 1: Day trip to the Amarbayasgalant Monastery
We will leave Ulaanbaatar at 9:00 am and drive to Darkhan, the capital of the Darkhan Uul province. We will stop briefly in Darkhan to eat lunch and visit local attractions. From Darkhan we drive west to the Iven Valley and the Amarbaysgalant Monastery.
Option 2: Stay at the Amarbaysgalant Monastery (2 Days).
We will visit the Amarbaysgalant Monastery and have dinner. We will spend the night in a local family's ger camp.
At midnight, we will visit the monastery to sneak a peak of monks reading through the night. Lunch and Dinner
Day 2. Learn Tradition
In morning, we will have breakfast in the ger and participate in muruu gargakh (the ceremony of determining a new year). As we visit local families, you will learn about zolgokh (the traditional new years greeting) and have an additional chance to explore the monastery.
Around 3:00 pm we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar, stopping along the way to eat lunch. Breakfast and Lunch
